Well, I've been back for about 2 months now and have found readjustment to be quite tough. I miss Honduras, I miss my kids, I miss living alone, quiet time, not worrying about the next step, etc. But that is part of the PC experience as well.
It's been an amazing journey and hopefully, it's not over. There will be another adventure in the works, another challenge to face, and many more faces to see. But thanks for reading my adventures the past 2 1/2 years. In retrospect, it really did fly.

I found your blog because I was googling tacuasín and it turned up. I'm a Spanish teacher and grew up in Honduras (SPS mostly). I was looking at words that came from Nahuatl and one was tlalchuache or something like that. I know my husband (who learned his Spanish in Mexico and on construction sites) always calls them tlacuache and I thought he was mispronouncing the word - apparently the original is that and Hondurans have modified it.

The grass is always greener, right? At COS minus six months, I definitely have times when I want to go back right away, but it comes and goes. You know about all that, of course. So take it easy and all that, and maybe we can go see a Cubs game sometime.

My friend and I were recently talking about the prevalence of technology in our day to day lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that debate we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.
I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as memory becomes cheaper, the possibility of transferring our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could see in my lifetime.
